Nursery

The Nursery at Harris Primary Academy Croydon is an Early Years provision with warm and welcoming staff. Our staff are a dedicated team of individuals who work together in a professional manner to promote a wide and varied Early Years Provision.

Our highly qualified and experienced staff offer the children learning through play based experiences, under the areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. This contributes to the development of the ‘whole child’ as our aim is to enable all our children to have fun and foster a love for learning.  We welcome your involvement in your child’s learning and development and hold regular open mornings so you can be involved in your child's learning and talk to staff.

At Harris Primary Croydon, we are proud of the unique provision we are able to offer our families. At present, all three and four year olds are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare per week, up to 38 weeks per year. The government has also introduced an extended 15 hours of free childcare per week - 30 hours in total for 38 weeks per year, for those families that are eligible.

We can assist you with the eligibility criteria for the universal 15 hours free child care and extended 15 hours free child care (30 hours).

Information about the extended 30 hours free childcare can also be found by visiting the following website:

https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare

Parents/carers have the option to use either their entitled 15 or 30 hours of free child care or pay for additional provision.

Our Nursery Class

The Nursery at Harris Primary Academy Croydon is an Early Years provision with warm and welcoming staff, that are a dedicated team of individuals working together to promote high-quality Early Years provision.

Our highly qualified and experienced staff offer the children a learning through play-based experience as required for the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Our Nursery offers 52 places (26 each session). Children can start in Nursery the term after their third birthday, if places are available.

Our Nursery will run term time only in line with the term dates for the main school.

A child may start at the Nursery at different points in the academic year, based on the date of their 3rd birthday.

Applications received after this date will be treated as late applications, and will not be processed until after all on-time applications have been processed, reducing the child's chances of achieving a place.
